Stephen Bunting Releases Book Bulletproof
Stephen Bunting, the St Helens darts player, has released a book about his life in darts.
The book, entitled Bulletproof: From pub to palace, my life in darts, tells the story of Bunting's life, from throwing darts in smoky Merseyside boozers to becoming a professional darts player.
Bunting grew up in Fazakerley and learned to count by chalking scores up on the side of his wardrobe.
He sneaked into pubs under his hood as a twelve-year-old and eventually became one of the most beloved players in the fastest-growing sport on the planet.
His walk-on to Titanium sees grown adults singing their hearts out in arenas from Belfast to Berlin.
But behind the pyrotechnics and the sing-alongs, this is a story about grit, including the gambling debts, the wilderness years, and the local league night where he couldn't hit a double.
Bunting said: "Thirteen years ago I achieved my lifetime dream of winning the Lakeside BDO World Championship."
The book will publish in hardback, ebook and audiobook in September 2026, with a treble of forewords from Colin Murray, Luke Humphries and Barry Hearn.
Editorial director Jonathan de Peyer added: "To watch Stephen play is an infectious experience, and this book is full of outrageous anecdotes and inimitable wisdom."
Bunting's story is one of perseverance and dedication to the sport he loves, and his book is a must-read for any darts fan.
The book provides an exclusive behind-the-scenes view of the professional darts tour, and Bunting's experiences as a player.
With over 800,000 followers across his social media, Bunting is one of the most popular and engaging players on the PDC tour.
His book is a natural gift for any darts fan, and a great way to learn more about the life of a professional darts player.
