Stephen Curry reacts to Draymond Green’s PGA Tour claim
Stephen Curry has responded to teammate Draymond Green’s bold claim that he could become a professional golfer. The Golden State Warriors star, known for his passion for golf, addressed the comments while also touching on the ongoing LeBron James free agency rumors.
Green recently stated that Curry could "real deal possibly be a professional golfer" and that he "can definitely be a golf pro, no question," according to @cptdankkk on X. The comments came as Curry has been spending time on the golf course during the offseason, a hobby he has pursued alongside his NBA career.
Curry, speaking to Nate Ryan of NBC Sports, downplayed Green’s claims while appreciating the support. "I love Draymond; that’s why he’s such a great teammate," Curry said. "He’s hyping me up. I do have so much respect for how hard this game is and what you all do on the Tour week in, week out. There’s no even realistic shot that I’m going after a Tour card. But to see how good I can get when basketball is done, I kind of want to slowly and maybe without that shot say that I had a chance."
While Curry has no immediate plans to pursue a professional golf career, his comments suggest he may continue to develop his skills post-NBA. The Warriors star has long been one of the best golfers in the NBA, and his humility in responding to Green’s claims reflects his respect for the sport.
Curry and the Warriors are also waiting to see if LeBron James will join them in free agency. The team has been mentioned as a potential landing spot for the four-time NBA champion, though no decision has been made. Curry, meanwhile, remains focused on both his basketball future and his passion for golf.
