Steve Davis Spins New Career as DJ
Steve Davis, the 67-year-old snooker legend, has traded his cue for DJ decks, stunning fans with his new career.
Davis, who dominated the sport for years, reached eight World Championship finals and clinched six world titles, has been performing techno sets at various festivals and venues.
He formed an electro group named the Utopia Strong with musician Kavus Torabi and recorded two albums with them.
Davis' new career has left fans bewildered, with one follower writing: "Is this actually Steve Davis or an AI video? I hope it's real because it's pretty cool lol."
He admitted his unexpected career trajectory was "ridiculous", saying: "I didn't know my life would turn out like this. You haven't got a clue. My life seems to have gone in reverse."
Davis has curated the line-up for the 2025 Simple Things Festival in Bristol, and has also undertaken production work for various other musical projects.
He kicked off hosting a soul and rock show on Brentwood's Phoenix FM in 1996, and famously joined forces with Chas and Dave on 'Snooker Loopy' as part of 'The Matchroom Mob.'
Davis performed at Glastonbury Festival, supported Blur at Wembley Stadium, and has a collection of over 10,000 vinyl records.
He said: "I come from another world. The snooker world is not that way so it passed me by. Music is my drug of choice."
And his fans have been reacting to his new career, with one writing: "Incredible. This guy has so much talent it makes my head spin. And he's funny and charismatic. Who'd have thought he was this guy 35 years ago? I love it!"
