Triple H explains why WWE reversed Bron Breakker’s Royal Rumble win

Triple H, WWE’s head of creative, has explained why the company reversed Bron Breakker’s Royal Rumble win in January 2026.

The decision came after the match ended in chaos, with multiple wrestlers spilling into the ring and the finish ruled unsafe.

What happened in the Royal Rumble?

Bron Breakker entered the 2026 Royal Rumble as the 29th entrant and lasted nearly 45 minutes before eliminating Drew McIntyre to win the match.

But the final minutes turned into a free-for-all, with LA Knight, Randy Orton and Sami Zayn all crashing the ring before the bell.

WWE officials ruled the finish unsafe and immediately reversed the result, declaring no official winner.

Triple H told media on 21 July 2026 that the reversal was about protecting talent and fans.

“Safety is always the priority,” he said. “We saw bodies flying everywhere. That’s not the show we want to put on.”

He added that the Royal Rumble’s chaotic finish risked sending the wrong message to younger viewers watching at home.

Triple H confirmed the 2026 Royal Rumble will still crown a winner, but the rules will tighten for future events.

“We’re reviewing every angle,” he said. “The Royal Rumble is iconic, but it can’t come at the cost of injuries.”

The company plans to add more referees and tighter ring apron control before the next edition.

Bron Breakker remains a top contender despite the reversal, with Triple H calling him “one of the brightest stars in the locker room.”

He is scheduled to face Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship next month in a match billed as “Breakker’s Redemption.”
