Usain Bolt Advises Athletics Star Gout Gout to Stay Focused

Usain Bolt, the eight-time Olympic gold winner, has advised Australian sprint star Gout Gout to find the right set of people for guidance.

Gout Gout, 18, will be competing at the Diamond League in June, drawing comparisons with the Jamaican sprinting legend.

He clocked 19.67 seconds to win the 200m title at the Australian Athletics Championship earlier this month.

Bolt's advice comes from his own experience, having been in similar situations at a young age.

“At that young age, because I was there, you start getting pulled left and right and then you forget track and field,” Bolt was quoted speaking to CNN.

Gout will be making his Diamond League debut in the 200m race in Oslo on June 10, competing against the current Olympic champion, Letsile Tebogo of Botswana.

He followed his 200m victory with a 100m win in the U-20 event, clocking 10.21 seconds.

Gout's heroics on the track have earned him comparisons with the 39-year-old Jamaican sprinting legend.

Bolt emphasized the importance of staying focused on track and field, saying “if you mess up on track and field, then it all goes away.”

Gout, of South Sudanese heritage, is already being talked about in his country as a potential gold medalist at the 2032 Brisbane Olympics.

Bolt's guidance is crucial for Gout as he navigates his young career, and his debut at the Diamond League will be a significant test.
